This covers Inkwell and MyFknTattoos (the "app") and myfkntattoos.com, operated by MyFknTattoos.
Two kinds of people use this. Artists hold accounts with us. Their clients do not — a client's information reaches us only because an artist put it there, and that artist decides what is collected and how long it is kept. We store it on their behalf. A client who wants their information changed or removed should ask their artist first; we will act on the artist's instruction.

When an artist photographs the front of an ID, the app checks on the device whether a face is present, to confirm it is the photo side rather than the barcode side.
This is face detection, not face recognition. It answers only whether a face appears in the frame. It does not measure facial geometry, does not create a faceprint, cannot identify anyone, and nothing from that check is stored or transmitted. We do not collect biometric identifiers as defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act or comparable laws in Texas and Washington.
License barcodes are read on the device. We keep the name, date of birth and expiry, and only the last four digits of the document number.
Consent forms ask about conditions affecting tattoo safety — bleeding disorders, diabetes, epilepsy, allergies, pregnancy, medication. Many states require these questions.
We are not a healthcare provider and this is not medical care, so HIPAA does not apply. We treat the answers as sensitive regardless: encrypted at rest, reachable only by the artist who collected them, never sold, never shared for advertising, never used to train anything.
Artist accounts persist until deleted. Client records persist for the retention period the artist sets, which should match what their state requires — commonly three to seven years for consent forms, longer where a minor is involved.
Deleting an account removes everything attached to it, including consent documents. Those may be records an artist is legally required to keep, so they should be exported first.
One thing is kept: if you bought MyFknTattoos on the site, the email address it was bought with and its unlock code remain on file as a record of the payment. That record is not linked to your artist profile, is not used for anything else, and holds nothing about your clients.
Only what is needed to make the app work:
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Depending on where you live you may have the right to see what we hold, correct it, delete it, or obtain a copy.
Artists can do all of this from Settings, including permanent account deletion.
Clients should contact their artist, who controls their record. If that isn't possible, write to us and we will pass the request on and act on the artist's instruction.
Encrypted in transit and at rest. Consent documents and reference images sit in private storage reachable only through short-lived signed links. Sign-in uses a one-time emailed code or Sign in with Apple — there are no passwords to leak.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
We will update the date above and, for anything significant, tell artists in the app.
